About Us

Why Choose Us?

Our Story

The loss of a loved one is one of the most difficult experiences many of us will ever face.

Rational thoughts become garbled in a myriad of emotion, and often we find ourselves not sure of where to turn for answers.

At the end of the day most of us want to provide a dignified, proper, and fitting send off to our loved ones who leave us behind without having to choose between taking care of our loved one and paying our normal bills for the next month.

As consumers, we all want our dollars to go father, multiple options at our fingertips, and don’t forget having your items shipped to your door so you never have to leave home.

If we can buy or arrange for everything else from the comfort of home, via our smart phone, tablet, or PC why not funeral or cremation services?

Welcome to a new era in funeral & cremation care.

The funeral directors and staff of the Acacia Society understand now more than ever families need to know that they are getting the best value dollar per dollar. That your loved one is being cared for properly, and most importantly in what perhaps can be the darkest hour in one’s life that an already overwhelming time is not multiplied by the bluster and pressure that can be added by an overzealous funeral home.

Arrangements are made via our interactive platform. So, no matter where you are within Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Delaware, District of Columbia, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Connecticut, Massachusetts, or Ohio you and your family can arrange for an affordable, dignified cremation or funeral services without leaving home.

All while saving hundreds if not thousands of dollars over “traditional” funeral homes.

We are simply built to better serve families through the power of technology.

Whether you are seeking a direct cremation, cremation with a memorial service, graveside service, or a traditional funeral and viewing the funeral directors and staff of the Acacia Society are here to provide you with options and affordability when you need it most.

If you are looking for simplistic and affordable funeral or cremation care, look no farther than the Acacia Society. We are available 24 hours a day to answer your questions at

Acacia Society’s Pledge to the Families We Serve

The Acacia Society pledges to…

  • Continually offer respectful, dignified cremation & burial services with a focus on affordability and simplicity.
  • Offer additional services and products that will allow each family to meet their own needs.
  • Treat each family with respect and dignity through trained, experienced staff.
  • Ensuring 100% positive identification of your loved one through our Peace-of-Mind
  • Identification Protocol.

Our Pledge/Peace of Mind Protocol:

The Acacia Society has developed this eight-step identification process to ensure every family 100% certainty that that they are receiving the correct remains of their loved one.

  1. The deceased receives an ID tag/bracelet at the place of death and a photograph is taken.
  2. A family member or designee will view the photograph to ensure with 100% certainty that we have the correct identity.
  3. Upon placement of your loved on into the cremation container, we label the container with the identification, and double-check that the ID tag/bracelet matches the label.
  4. Prior to cremation, all forms are reviewed by the funeral director. In order to perform cremation we must have the following documents completed to hand off to the crematory operator: death certificate, burial/transit permit, family signed cremation authorization, & coroner’s authorization (if applicable), and ID form.
  5. Upon delivery to the crematory, the crematory operator confirms the identity by matching the information on the container and the paperwork mentioned above.
  6. The crematory operator then assigns a metal serialized cremation ID disc with a unique number which follows the deceased throughout the cremation process. The number on that disc will have been recorded in a ledger book at the crematory along with the other legal documents that accompanied the deceased.
  7. Every cremation is done individually. Our crematory is not capable of doing multiple cremations simultaneously.
  8. After cremation, the metal disc and a card showing the person’s name are inserted into the urn, along with the cremated remains.
